Open Studies

Open Studies allows you to take courses for general interest without being formally admitted to a University program.

For information on courses offered for the current registration term, see Open Studies Courses.

Becoming an Open Studies student is four simple steps:

  1. Complete an Open Studies Registration Form. If you prefer, these can be picked up at the SEARS office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary.
  2. Drop off the completed form, and any required documentation as outlined on the back of the form, to the SEARS office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary up until the add/drop deadline. If you do not have a uLethbridge ID number, one will be assigned to you at this time.
  3. Pay the $80 tuition deposit and $60 registration fee (both are non-refundable) at the SEARS office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary. The tuition deposit is applied towards your tuition fees.
  4. Once you receive confirmation of your registration eligibility you can register on your specified dates listed in the Bridge. How to find my dates?

Did You Know? These steps must be repeated each term you want to attend as an Open Studies student.

TIP- For more information regarding eligibility and other conditions applying to Open Studies, see Registration in the Academic Calendar.
