Open Studies

Open Studies allows you to take courses for general interest without being formally admitted to a University program.

Becoming an Open Studies student is four simple steps:

  1. Complete an Open Studies Registration Form. If you prefer, these can be picked up at the Registrar’s Office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary or Edmonton.
  2. Drop off the completed form, and any required documentation as outlined on the back of the form, to the Registrar’s Office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary or Edmonton. If you do not have a uLethbridge ID number, one will be assigned to you at this time.
  3. Pay the $80 tuition deposit and $20 registration fee (both are non-refundable) at the Registrar’s Office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary or Edmonton. The tuition deposit is applied towards your tuition fees.
  4. Once you receive confirmation of your registration eligibility you can register on your specified dates listed in the Bridge. How to find my dates?

Did You Know? These steps must be repeated each semester you want to attend as an Open Studies student.

TIP For more information regarding eligibility and other conditions applying to Open Studies, visit Part 2 - Registration in the Academic Calendar.
