Sustainable Campus

The University of Lethbridge serves many purposes for our many communities. We provide a place for working, learning, studying, discovering, playing, and living. As a campus community, we strive to create, model, and share ideas and innovations for engaged and knowledgeable citizenry, sustainable systems and surroundings, and conscious decision-making and leadership.

Working toward a sustainable future and practicing the principles of sustainable development, we commit to decisions and practices that address the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to thrive. We further recognize that our physical campus, academic curriculum and programming, research and discovery endeavours, and living and learning activities impact all aspects of sustainability.

  • As an institution of higher learning, knowledge creation, and innovation
  • As an institution of and in our natural ecosystem and unique environment
  • As an institution committed to Indigenization and EDI
  • As a place of where people from diverse backgrounds come to learn, work, live, and play…

We share a commitment to sustainability action, making institutional and personal changes, and sharing ideas and successes together. Through interactive and iterative processes, we will create a sustainable University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge and Calgary and in support of the many communities and partners we serve, work and learn alongside, and are accountable to.
