Title of Study: Adding Contingency Management to Treatment as Usual for the Treatment of Gambling Disorder.
Principal Investigators: Dr. Darren R. Christensen, Dr. Rebeca Hudson-Breen, Mr. Joel Mader, Dr. Jackie Smith, and Dr. Trent Leighton
Who are we looking for? We are looking for people who are experiencing problems due to their gambling to participate in a research study. This study investigates the effects of providing small incentives for evidence of treatment success.
Participants will be receive either regular counselling or regular counselling and small incentives.
All participants will receive free individual counselling from an experienced counsellor/therapist.
The counselling is free.
What will I be asked to do? You will be asked to come to the University of Lethbridge (Lethbridge) or the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre (Calgary) where you will see your counsellor. The first session you will complete the tasks and answer questions about yourself. The counselling sessions will last for 12 weeks. You can see your counsellor up to three times a week.
Participants will be asked to complete a range of assessments.
Compensation is provided.
