Official Global Travel Advisory

Avoid non-essential travel outside of Canada until further notice. To limit the spread of COVID-19, many countries have put in place travel or border resrictions and other measures such as movement resrictions and quarantines. Many airlines are suspending fights. Many airports are closing, preventing fights from leaving. Exit bans are becoming more frequent. New resrictions may be imposed with little warning. Your travel plans may be severely disrupted and you may be forced to remain outside of Canada longer than expected. Canadian travellers should return to Canada as soon as possible. Contact your airline or tour operator to determine options for cancelling or posponing your trip.

If you are abroad and require immediate assitance, please contact International SOS and reach out to covid19.inquiries@uleth.ca

If you require the University SOS membership number please contact Security Services at Security.ops@uleth.ca or 1-403-329-2345.

The Student Safety Abroad  policy sets out standards to ensure safer experiences for University of Lethbridge students who travel internationally as part of a university program or activity.

All students are required to REGISTER their travel outside of Canada as it relates to University sponsored activities and programs. The registry is voluntary for employees and all are encourged in the interest of safety to register.

The UofL Student Traveler's Checklist- Current.docx is a documented tool intended to assist students with specific tasks that may require attention in relation to the travel abroad.

The University has partnered with International SOS to assist university travelers from the preplanning stages of travel through any emergency or concern while working or studying outside the borders of Canada.
