University Library Services Update | Fall 2020

The Fall 2020 semester is fast approaching, so we wanted to provide you with some updates about the University Library’s services and spaces.


The Library Information Network Centre (LINC), which includes the University Library remains closed to general access. Please view the Fall 2020 Update: FAQ for Students for updates on study space and other services on campus.

The University Library will continue to provide the lending of materials from select collections and the Faculty of Education’s Curriculum Laboratory for Lethbridge-and-area members of the University Community (academic staff, staff, and students). For service details and requesting instructions, click here.

The University Library will not be able to provide lending to alumni, community, CURBA, and The Alberta Library patrons at this time.


If you want to return items to the library, there are a few different options available, which includes:

  • Anderson Hall (AH176). Returns are being accepted in AH176 during its operational hours. If the room is closed, do not leave items outside.
  • Members of The Alberta Library will accept returns if they are open to receive them. Please contact your local Alberta library for details about their services.
  • You can mail them to the University Library, but that would be at a cost to you at this time, which we would prefer you avoid. If you do decide to mail them, please use registered/tracked mailing services. Our address is:

The University of Lethbridge’s Lethbridge Campus remains closed to general access that includes the University Library. At this time, we cannot recall items requested by patrons. We recommend that you submit an interlibrary loan request for resources that are currently being borrowed by patrons.

Items that are currently on loan, will have their due dates extended until January 15, 2020.


We are not currently able to provide this service to our patrons outside the Lethbridge area and Calgary Campus. Please submit requests for articles and book chapters to our Interlibrary Loans service. A reply to your request will be sent to your email account, if the material you are requesting is available. We continue to explore distance delivery options.


The Alberta Library (TAL) Card will be mailed upon request by contacting Please contact your local member of The Alberta Library to verify their level of service (i.e., lending policies, hours of operation, etc.).
