Supports available to those affected by wildfire event

The recent wildfire situation in Lethbridge and surrounding areas may have affected some members of our University of Lethbridge community, whether it be through loss of property and/or evacuation.

The University has a number of supports available to anyone affected by the recent wildfire event.

Students

Students affected by the wildfire should contact their individual instructors to discuss specific academic concerns.

Students in our community who are feeling distressed over this situation may seek assistance through Counselling Services (http://www.uleth.ca/counselling/) or at 403-317-2845.

FNMI Student Services is available to offer culturally safe support to any students who are affected by the recent events. The Elder support program is also available on campus http://www.uleth.ca/first-nations-metis-inuit/content/medicine-rock-elders.  If you need to talk with someone at Iikaiskini, contact (403) 317-2812 for further direction or support.

Students who experience physical health issues can access supports through the health centre - https://www.uleth.ca/hr/health-centre or by calling 403-329-2484.

Staff and Faculty

Affected staff and faculty members who are unable to report to work should contact their supervisor as soon as possible. Counselling services are also available for employees through the University of Lethbridge Employee and Family Assistance Program by calling 1-800-663-1142.
