Destruction of Unclaimed Student Work

All remaining student work from Summer 2016 (or earlier) must be destroyed no later than September 30, 2017, in accordance with Alberta's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act and the University's Academic RegulationsAll eligible student work and transitory documents received by Records Management by Friday, September 15 will be shredded by Lethbridge Mobile Shredding on Monday, September 18. Records Management will also store more recent unclaimed student work and shred it as soon as it is eligible. See our website for more details and to access the appropriate form.

If you need boxes or have questions, call ext. 2750 or email records@uleth.ca. We’re also happy to help you figure out what can and can’t be shredded. 

Records Management offers secure shredding services for transitory and non-record material, as well as storage and secure shredding of student work. Almost any material can be shredded, including electronic storage media (hard drives, CD-ROM, etc.) and nametags. Shredding is done by Lethbridge Mobile Shredding and witnessed by Records Management staff.
