As the national leader in Veterans’ chronic pain research, the Chronic Pain Centre of Excellence (CPCoE) funds research that improves the well-being of Veterans, and their families, living with chronic pain. The CPCoE uses a competitive application process culminating in review by the Scientific Advisory Board, to allocate funding. The Capacity Building Initiative (CBI) supports a graduate student at the master's level conducting research in the field of Veterans' chronic pain.

There are 3 research funding opportunities available by Chronic Pain Centre of Excellence:

Value:

  • $20,000 per year for a maximum of 2 years for Masters
  • $20,000 per year for a maximum of 3 years for PhD

Application Timeline: March 26 to June 30

Eligibility:

Candidates must:

  • Be registered in a master's program at a recognized Canadian university
  • Propose supervised research in chronic pain with a focus on Canadian Armed Forces Veterans that is relevant to the CPCoE Vision and Mission
  • Demonstrate high academic achievement
