Condolence Notice — Dr. Steven Thibodeau

The University of Lethbridge expresses its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of former faculty member Dr. Steven Thibodeau, who passed away Mar. 29, 2024, at the age of 70.

Thibodeau, a mental health therapist, taught in what was the School of Health Sciences at ULetbridge beginning in 2006. He also held a position with the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Social Work on the Lethbridge campus. Known for his passion and commitment, Thibodeau strove to be an ally to the Indigenous communities he worked with, including over two decades providing mental health services with Indigenous First Nations.

A viewing will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2213 6A Ave N, on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. The funeral service will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Thibodeau’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

The University of Lethbridge will lower its flag in honour of Thibodeau on the day of service.
