Asbestos Removal - University Hall Block E, Levels 5 & 6

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Between July 2 and July 10, 2015, contractors will be performing asbestos removal in University Hall, Block E, levels 5 and 6.

A containment will be set up on each level while this work is being done and there will be no admittance into any of the construction areas. All corridors will remain open while this is happening. The E section elevator will continue to be out of order during this time. This work is being completed during the summer to restore water damaged areas caused by a broken water line in April.

This is a normal procedure for any renovation project executed involving asbestos abatement. Removal will be completed consistent with the requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Code, and performed by trained and certified workers pursuant to the required code of practice to ensure that there is no health risk to students, staff, faculty, the general public or construction workers. Air monitoring will be completed by an independent environmental technologist and the reports will be posted on the Risk and Safety Services website.

We apologize for any inconveniences and appreciate your cooperation during this time.
