Abstract: Estimation of neural connections from spike data is an important problem for investigating information processing in brains. Although a limited number of neurons are observed, most of the existing methods ignore effects from non-observed neurons. In this paper, we propose a framework for extracting connections of partially observed neurons by estimating effects from non-observed neurons based on a probability model of neuron firing. Our numerical experiment supports usefulness of our proposed method.
