Inventive, energetic and brilliant are just some of words used to describe the performances and mastery of the Canadian Guitar Quartet. Having performed throughout Canada and on stages throughout the world, the University Recital Hall is set to host these spirited guitarists for the first Faculty Artists and Friends Series concert of the 2016-2017 season, October 18 at 7:30 pm.

Since its debut in 1999, the Canadian Guitar Quartet has toured extensively in North and South America, from one standing ovation to the next, establishing a reputation as one of the finest guitar ensembles in the world. The CGQ has appeared with orchestras across Canada, and has recorded three critically acclaimed CDs.

This fall, the CGQ is set to delight audiences in Priddis, High River, Lacombe, Sherwood Park, Grande Prairie, Edmonton and Calgary on the first leg of the 2016-2017 tour. Audiences will experience music by Vivaldi, Beethoven, Saint Saëns, Rossini and original guitar works by Patrick Roux. Talented guitarists Julien Bisaillon, Bruno Roussel, Louis Trépanier and M. Côté-Giguère promise a concert to amaze and inspire.

Tickets are available at the University Box Office, Monday – Friday, 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm, or by calling (403) 329-2616. Tickets are also available online: ulethbridge.ca/tickets.
