Centre for Financial Market Research and Teaching

Finance students in the Centre

The Centre for Financial Market Research and Teaching (the "trading room") presents unique and exciting opportunities for students in the Faculty of Management.

The 48-station facility in Markin Hall is the best-equipped academic trading room in Western Canada, with direct connections to futures exchanges around the world. It gives students hands-on experience in derivatives and equities trading and risk management.

The practical, high-demand skills acquired while learning in the trading room will be attractive to future employers and a distinct advantage to our graduates as they embark on their careers.

Access

The trading room is open to:

  • students registered in a course taught in the Centre
  • corporate or community groups who wish to conduct finance-related activities and/or training
