Is this why Waterton became known as an eccentric?

One thing just led to another. Squire Waterton as the people of Walton village called him was the brunt of much conversation. Many stories were told of the tricks that he played such as pretending to be a dog
under a table. He liked to demonstrate his agility by scratching the back of his ear with his big toe. He was still climbing trees when he was over 80.
