The Flight of the Nez Perce - 1877

Students view Chief Joseph's rifle at the Fort Benton Museum in Montana

We invite you to participate in reliving one of the great sagas of the North American West

Follow our work-in-progress as it develops over a period of months.

This year as we work on our 12th sketchbook, some sketches will be selected (with credit) for use on our website.

To find journals to sketch visit our Timeline.

Each year students from around the world illustrate historical journals. The student work is bound in book form and presented at locations that tie in with the story.

Your work will be presented in Canada and U.S.A.

Permission Slips
A few weeks later the school will receive forms by snail mail to be signed by your parents or guardian and returned to us giving permission to use your sketch in our presentation book. If you wish a souvenir presentation book, it can be ordered at that time.

Our presentation books are hand-made and we are able to use a sketch from every participant. Nobody will be left out although only a limited number can be used on the website.

Deadline: April 15, 2003

Following the presentation participating schools receive a photograph of the event.
