Mackinnon brothers rolling into town

A very worthwhile event is rolling into Lethbridge today as former Pronghorn men's basketball player and alumnus Scott Mackinnon (BA '10) arrives in the midst of a bold cycling trip that will take he and his brothers across the country.

Their trip is dubbed Biking for Baha and is raising funds in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The four brothers have taken up the charge in memory of their late grandfather, Neville 'Baha' Munro.

The crew is currently just entering Alberta and will be making its way through Lethbridge on Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday afternoon, they plan to make the trek from Waterton to Lethbridge and the University community is assembling a group of cyclists to join them as they come into the city. People are asked to meet at the U of L's Penny Building in downtown Lethbridge at 4:30 p.m., when the group will head out to the highway and then escort the brothers into town, where they are staying at the Lethbridge Lodge. To estimate numbers for this group, please email jon.doan@uleth.ca to RSVP.

On Wednesday night, a Baha fundraiser will be held beginning at 8:30 p.m. in the Lodge's Cotton Blossom Lounge. Everyone is invited.
