Alumna Pat Baskerville Wants to Help Current Students Succeed

Pat Baskerville (BN '94)was married with three kids and working full-time as a nurse when she returned to university to complete her bachelor of nursing degree.

"I didn't have the typical student experience right out of high school but I still had a great time at the U of L," says Pat. "The small class sizes made it possible to interact with professors as well as other students and I learned a lot by listening to other people's perspectives."

Today, as a labour and delivery nurse, Pat continues to use the experience of others to inform and improve her practice.

"The field of nursing has changed a lot since I started my career but my degree taught me the skills I need to be successful while having a positive impact on the people and the communities I serve. I give to the U of L because I want to help create a supportive environment where students can be successful."
