Shop Talks

Shop Talks are workshops that run throughout the semester. The topics are ranging, but many topics focus on developing or improving skills that relate to teaching and learning.

**These sessions are now being run online through Zoom.  Registering for the event will grant you access to the Zoom link.**

There are three parts to each session:

  1. 10 minute presentation
  2. 15 – 20 minute Q & A
  3. 30 minute Hands-on activities

This summer we will be focusing on the areas of technology in relation to teaching and online teaching:

 


Selecting Technology for Teaching - Sept 29th at 9am - Register

In this one-hour session, you will discuss the use of the TPACK and SECTIONS model to guide you in your selection of technology for:

  • delivering content
  • facilitating discussion and student collaboration,
  • obtaining student feedback
  • measure student learning

Assessment in the Online Environment​ - Oct 15th at 3pm - Register

This ShopTalk will be co-hosted by Richelle Marynowski, Faculty of Education.
This will be an open forum for faculty members to ask questions of each other regarding assessment practices in the online environment. The session will be solutions focussed and will address grading, test design, alternative assessments, and feedback.
