Shine New Light
We seek to understand the human and natural world and the universe beyond, with an aim to bring knowledge and wisdom to bear on sustaining and improving quality of life, society and the environment.
Our superior teaching is informed by our superior research, and our undergraduate and graduate students play an active role in the investigative process. We are committed to preparing the next generation of highly qualified researchers and practitioners who will lead the way in a knowledge-driven future.
Thanks to donor support, our faculty and students are bringing new light to problems and possibilities. The results of these efforts extend well beyond campus and impact communities across Alberta and around the world.
Without doubling food production by 2050, we'll face global shortages. Nutrient dense potatoes are key to global food security.
Amid Alberta's thriving potato industry, Dr. Dmytro Yevtushenko, University of Lethbridge Research Chair in Potato Science, is leading the charge in global food security. Buy building knowledge and capacity in potato agriculture teaching courses in plant breeding, and engaging undergraduate and graduate students in research, Dr. Yvtushenko is improving the yield and quality of crops and preparing the next generation of researchers.
