Waivers & Consents

Waivers and consents are important risk management tools. Dependent upon the nature of the activity whether it is related to an academic program, a special event, a volunteer initiative or a University sanctioned club activity a waiver or consent may be required to ensure the participants to the event or activity acknowledge and agree to accept the risks and waive any claims they may have against the University in the event of a loss.

Campus Safety, Insurance & Risk Services oversees the University’s waiver & consent program and should be consulted to provide guidance as to when a waiver or consent is required and also for assistance as to the waiver administration process.

Student Clubs are ratified under the University of Lethbridge Student Union (ULSU) and members should contact the ULSU to discuss the club activity and any waiver/consent requirement.
