Early Stage

This stage covers research developed within University and its findings translated out to a spin-off company. The funds sought are meant to offer a push into the commercialization space. The investment can be either dilutive or non-dilutive, which means the funds can affect or not affect the equity position of the startup company, respectively. The funds can be provided to facilitate activities such as:

  • Validation of findings that support the novel concept
  • Provide pre-clinical support to demonstrate value “beyond the lab bench”
  • Market / Business Analysis to confirm validity of the Customer-base
  • IP Assessment to demonstrate patentability
  • Hiring to scale the startup
  • Build the initial concept into a viable product
  • Translate the concept into a proof-of-principal innovation
