James Graham

James Graham is an Associate Professor and founding Chair of the Department of New Media, Faculty of Fine Arts, at the University of Lethbridge. He is also a Research Affiliate of the Prentice Institute. He teaches and mentors in game design, production and enterprise start-up at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In 2016 he founded Neospatial Corporation: an Alberta-based, Industry 5.0 company currently developing secure, closed-loop cyber-physical and IoT/AI sensing systems for enterprise and cultural applications. In 2015 he joined Vancouver-based In Situ Media as Director of Research and Development, where he manages the BC and Alberta labs.

In Situ Media holds 4 patents related to the scalable, real-time processing and targeted delivery of 3D CG ad media into social media video composites. With a Master’s Degree in Fine Art from NSCAD, James’ sculpture and critical Art writing has appeared in numerous national and international galleries and publications. Other significant accomplishments include: Mocap Team Leader on an X-box triple-A console release title The Outfit, Relic/THQ; co-recipient of the Canadian Foundation for Innovation JELF award for research excellence; and awarded the SIGGRAPH designation of “Computer Graphics Pioneer” in recognition of over 20 years of contributions to the CG industry and community.
