Synopsis: Internetization is a new word and concept that I have coined to describe our individual and collective empowerment through digital infrastructure and electronic connectivity in the 21st century. COVID-19 has forced us to acknowledge that we live in the Age of Internetization. The global pandemic has confirmed our digital existence. In consequence, the Internet became our default medium for work, schooling, social interaction, economic transactions, and many other forms of social and economic interchange. COVID-19 has also revealed a growing economic disparity between developed and developing countries due to the digital divide.
