Dr. Thomas (Tom) Noseworthy - University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta

Dr. Tom Noseworthy is Associate Chief Medical Officer, Strategic Clinical Networks & Clinical Care Pathways, Alberta Health Services. He is also Director, Centre for Health and Policy Studies, Professor (Health Policy and Management) and Head, Department of Community Health Sciences, University of Calgary. In 2007, he was named by the Governor General as a Member of the Order of Canada for his contributions to medicine and health care policy.

In a joint presentation, Dr. Noseworthy and his colleague, Dr. DeCoster outlined approaches to developing a prioritization system for referrals from primary care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Noseworthy demonstrates his consistent commitment and contribution to health care, the health system, clinical and graduate education and teaching, research and knowledge transfer, and management in clinical, executive and university positions. Moreover, there has been substantial commitment and attention to health policy at local, provincial and national levels, with recognition of this at the international level.
