Volunteer with the English Language Tutor Program!

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

The University of Lethbridge International is looking for volunteers for our English Language Tutor Program.

Each tutor is paired with another University of Lethbridge student who is looking for the opportunity to strengthen their English conversation skills.  The primary focus of the program is conversational English (rather than class or homework assistance).  Students are usually part of the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program, or are international undergraduate or graduate students. You will be paired up with one student for the semester, and you will be able to choose your schedule together.  The average time commitment is 1-3 hours per week.

Benefits of being an English Language Tutor include:

  • An opportunity for cultural and language exchange
  • A chance to help another student have a positive and unique experience in Canada and at the U of L
  • Volunteer experience that looks great on a resume
  • An official reference letter at the end of each semester
