Volunteer as an English Language Partner

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

The English Language Institute is looking for volunteers to participate online in the English Language Partner Program (ELPP) for our Fall 2020 semester (September through December).

This program pairs international students looking to improve their English skills with volunteer students from the University of Lethbridge. The ELPP focuses on building conversational English skills and cultural exchange. Partners meet for approximately one hour per week, but this is flexible with the students’ schedules. The program has been altered to an online-only format for the summer semester in respect to the campus closure and social distancing guidelines. Conversation support will be offered through messaging, voice or video conferencing, rather than meeting in-person.

It is important to note that some of our students will be taking their courses online from outside the country, which may make synchronous meetings a little harder to coordinate.

This is a great opportunity to connect with International Students and make new friends!
