Upgrade to campus emergency power distribution system

CAMPUS EMERGENCY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM UPGRADE
JUNE 25 - 29, 2018

 

The Destination Project and Facilities Electrical Department will be upgrading the campus emergency power distribution system. The upgrade is required to add the new Science and Academic Building to the grid.

Normal building power for campus buildings will not be affected UNLESS city power is lost.

To minimize the disruptions to the University campus much of the work will occur after hours.  Please note the following interruptions and which days they occur.  Times are approximate.

JUNE 25

  • 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Work required for: Library, Student Union Building, Regional Aquatic Center, Markin Hall, University Center of the Arts, CCBN and AWESB.

 

  • 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (campus wide) – Possible data/phone/banner interruptions.

 

  • 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (University Hall) - Phones, data and emergency lighting and power circuits in hallways/ labs and stairwells. Please turn off any sensitive equipment that is on emergency power and plan not to be in University Hall during this time.

JUNE 26

  • 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (campus wide) – Possible data/phone/banner interruptions.

 

  • 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (University Hall) - All exhaust fans for the labs will be off.  All labs will be closed during this time.  (University Hall) Elevator B will be out of order during this time.

JUNE 27

  • Starting at 11:00 p.m. – 6 a.m. (University Hall) - Expect to see 5-10 second power outages for testing of the new system.
