Travel recommendations and assistance for those travelling to, from or via the United States

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

As a result of unfolding events in the United States, members of the University community considering travel to, from or via the U.S. should anticipate increased travel delays due to demonstrations and security checks at U.S. airports. These delays are a result of the signing of an executive order, and subsequent legal challenges, regarding new immigration procedures for entry to the US.

The University has recently partnered with International SOS, a leading medical and security assistance company to provide assistance and advice for travel outside of Canada. Students, faculty and staff are advised to register for email alerts and review travel security updates through the International SOS membership portal. Membership login numbers are available by calling Campus Safety at 403-329-2549, or by visiting the Security office. Please have your University ID number on hand for registration. For more information on the services of International SOS please review this short video. Information and advice on travel is also available by contacting Toby Clark, Risk and Insurance Advisor at 403-329-2099 or clarkt@uleth.ca during regular office hours.

Students are reminded, per the Student Safety Abroad Policy, that prior to participating in any University-related activity outside of Canada, you must register your travel plans with the University through the Campus Safety Travel Abroad Registry and obtain the required authorizations to travel.
