•    Other, as approved by the Teaching Centre Advisory Council

Note: Any equipment, software, supplies, or materials purchased through this fund are the property of the Teaching Centre and will be used to support future projects.

The Teaching Centre will use the following criteria for judging the proposals:

  • Justification of need for innovation in the problem/issue/phenomenon to be addressed
  • Evidence that the project is unique and provides a creative approach to the problem it addresses
  • Clarity of objectives regarding the enhancement of teaching and learning for the relevant stakeholder audience
  • The project description in alignment with objectives
  • Evidence of the potential for enduring benefits to the improvement of teaching and learning for the broader university teaching community

The Teaching Centre will not consider applications that do not meet these criteria.

The recipient of a Teaching Innovation Fund award has a mandatory requirement to share the outcome of the project with the University of Lethbridge community within six months of the end date of the award, and through one of two options: workshop or presentation on the final product of the project, submission of an article for consideration of publication in the Teaching Centre magazine Light on Teaching or newsletter Firefly.

Faculty applicants who qualify for this award will be tenured, have a tenure-track position, a 3-year term or a continuing appointment

It is expected that a recipient will be employed by the university for an extended period of time in order to ensure the completion of the project, guarantee a presentation of findings and the submission of a final report.
