Styrofoam recycling now available on campus

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Recycling at the University of Lethbridge continues to take more and more product streams out of our city landfill. We can now add Styrofoam to that list with the introduction of a new program that will accept clean Styrofoam containers for recycle.

The U of L has enlisted a company that will pick up all clean Styrofoam containers for recycle, becoming the first Canadian university to recycle Styrofoam. All that is required is for people to remove all labels, tape, etc. from the product and drop it off at any campus recycling station.

If certain areas on campus, such as labs, have excessive amounts of Styrofoam, please contact Caretaking Services and a special bin will be provided. All other clean Styrofoam will be picked up from campus recycling stations daily by caretaking staff as they do their rounds.

Thank you for helping the University continue to divert product from the landfill.
