Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs (SACPA) will begin the new decade January 9, 2020 in the same friendly confines of the Royal Canadian Legion (north door), 324 Mayor Magrath Dr. S. Lethbridge. 

On Thursday Jan. 9, Shannon Phillips, MLA for Lethbridge West, will speak on Alberta’s Alternative Budget: What is the Official Opposition NDP Proposing?

Thursday Jan. 16, Trevor Page addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals and whether they are realistic and achievable

Thursday Jan. 23, Bruce Wilson will discuss the main barriers in transitioning to a low-carbon future and a new economy 

Thursday Jan. 30, Sofie Forsstrom will present on the health of the Oldman River headwaters

Related to the Jan. 16 topic, SACPA plans to present a series of sessions highlighting the variety of options available for transitioning to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable economy. We welcome the general public and SACPA members to attend these sessions and other upcoming SACPA events throughout the year. The format for regular Thursday noon-hour sessions features 30 minutes each for presentation, lunch and question period staring at 12 p.m. sharp.

The cost for the buffet lunch, including dessert, coffee/tea/juice is $14 (students $5) or if you’re only having coffee/tea/juice, $2. RSVP’s are not required. Limited special menu orders can be accommodated to ensure your meal suits you.
