To support faculty and staff who are considering retirement in the next one to two years, Human Resources is hosting information sessions on the Universities Academic Pension Plan (UAPP) and the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP). The UAPP includes faculty members, senior administrators and administrative professional officers (APOs). The PSPP includes Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) support staff and exempt support staff.
The sessions will cover topics including:
- how to access retirement calculations on the PSPP or UAPP website
- what the different pension options mean
- options for benefits after retirement
- how to estimate taxes on combined sources of income
- how to retire
Sessions will be led by Helen Wolfe, manager of Payroll, Pension and Benefits, and held in AH137 according to the following schedule:
Friday, Feb. 7
UAPP – 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
PSPP – 3 to 4 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 13
UAPP – 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
PSPP – 11 a.m. to noon
Wednesday, Feb. 19
PSPP – 9 to 10 a.m.
UAPP – 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
