Provincial Tuition Freeze

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Good afternoon ULeth Students!

This morning the Ministry of Advanced Education announced that the Government of Alberta has extended the Provincial tuition freeze on post-secondary institutions until fall 2018. This is excellent news for maintaining a standard of affordable education, making sure accessibility remains on the forefront of Albertan post secondary institutions. Although this is only a temporary freeze, Alberta Advanced Education has begun the Tuition portion of the Adult Learning Review.

The ULSU, along with our colleagues at the Council Of Alberta University Students, are eager to begin consultations with the Ministry. The Students' Union would like to invite students to submit their feedback regarding the tuition freeze, and any opinions regarding the future of post secondary education costs in Alberta. So that by the end of this freeze, the ministry, institutions, and students will all have a predictable and reliable tuition framework to look forward to.

Any questions or to submit feedback, please contact our ULSU President, Cameron Howey, at su.president@uleth.ca.
