What is this notice about?

Updated notice:

Further investigations indicate that the water will also be shut down in the University Centre for the Arts (UCA). As a result of this, the water shutdown will be for 2 buildings: University Hall and the University Centre for the Arts.

There will be a planned shutdown of all water in UH and UCA on Saturday July 22, 2017 from 8am to 12pm. This shutdown is necessary to repair a water main break close to University Hall.

When did this happen?

One of the water mains close to University Hall broke a couple of days ago. Water provision to University Hall has been restored with a temporary solution. However, in order to put a permanent fix in place, a shutdown will have to be done.

Who was affected and how?

This shutdown will affect every user in University Hall that needs water. Water will not be available during the shutdown, which means that a number of services such as water fountains, washrooms, eye wash stations, sinks and emergency showers will not function. Any activity happening during the shutdown needs to take into account that water will not be available.
