Piikani House Construction Progressing

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Construction is well under way on this project to replace the exterior cladding system on both buildings that has reached the end of its life.  Construction will be completed in two different periods, with Piikani House being closed until summer 2017, followed by Kainai House being closed from summer 2017 to summer 2018.

Piikani House is currently being re-clad, with the east end already having had all of the existing cladding removed and new spray foam and exterior board installed.  The new windows and cladding have started being installed this week.  Phase 2 of construction on Piikani involves the west end being re-clad, and this is already well under way with demolition being almost complete and new studs and insulation currently being installed.  The central core of the building will be the last phase of the exterior to undergo construction, before the roof is refurbished and landscaping around the entrances is completed.  The fire alarm will be replaced in Piikani House as part of this project.
