Physics Department Job Opportunities for Students

The Physics Department at the University of Lethbridge is seeking undergraduate and graduate students to design and implement questions for the WeBWorK online homework system over the period of May to July of 2018. Several part-time, six-week term positions are available. Successful applicants will be responsible for writing questions for first and second-year Physics, Astronomy, and Engineering classes on the WeBWorK platform which can be delivered to students as part of regular homework assignments. The terms available are: 

  • 2 positions beginning in May and ending in June
  • 2 positions beginning in June and ending in July

A maximum of 160 hours of work are available for each term. Daily schedules are flexible. Hourly wages range between $13.60 and $20.70 per hour, depending on level of education and experience. 

Applicants should be current or recently graduated students from the University of Lethbridge, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with first- and second-year Physics, Astronomy, or Engineering courses. Applicants should also possess basic computer programming skills, with a knowledge of languages such as C++, Java, or Python being an asset. Familiarity with Linux, LaTeX, and the WebWork platform will also be beneficial, although not required.
