Peer review available for NSERC Discovery Grants

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

The Office of Research and Innovation Services (ORIS) invites NSERC Discovery Grant applicants participate in a new initiative intended to support your efforts to strengthen your Discovery Grant proposal prior to submission to NSERC and increase Discovery Grant success rates at the University of Lethbridge.

An expert panel consisting of 3-4 University of Lethbridge faculty members who have recently served on NSERC’s evaluation groups have volunteered to read and provide feedback, in confidence, on proposals. Feedback will come in the form of a closed peer review session (mirroring a similar format to the NSERC evaluation sessions held in Ottawa), with the applicant and an ORIS Grants Facilitator present to listen to the discussion.

This is an excellent opportunity for NSERC applicants to get detailed, constructive feedback on their drafts.

To participate, please rsvp to Gillian Laird (gillian.laird@uleth.ca). Participants are asked to submit, to Gillian, a complete draft of their application by October 12th, and peer review sessions are anticipated to be held during the week of October 23rd (the exact timing will be based on your availability and that of the panels members).
