Message to students affected by tensions in Iran and Iraq

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

The University of Lethbridge is aware of the escalating tensions in Iran and Iraq based on recent events. We recognize the situation may cause distress for our international students from these countries.

The U of L offers a variety of supports to its students. Any student who is experiencing difficulties as a result can contact U of L Counselling Services to book an appointment with a counsellor. More information can be found on the Counselling & Career Services website. In addition, International Student Advisors at the International Centre can offer guidance and referrals to other services.

The circumstances may also cause concern for Iranian and Iraqi students who are applying to study at the U of L. These students will be given more time to submit their official transcripts and proof of their English Language Proficiency. Application deadlines for Summer and Fall 2020 will not be extended at this time, but the U of L will continue to monitor the situation and make accommodations as required. Students who have questions regarding their graduate application can contact sgsinquiries@uleth.ca or call 403-329-2793. For undergraduate applications, prospective students can email admissions@uleth.ca or call 403-320-5700.
