The University of Lethbridge has formally created an additional 200 permit-only parking stalls at the Community Stadium, which includes both the paved and gravel areas. This lot has been designated Lot Q. Use of this lot and the conditions that are described hereafter are applicable only for the balance of the 2016/17 academic year, ending on April 30, 2017. Free parking at Lot Q was recently extended to September 30, which brings the official permit process into effect for October 1. At this time, eligibility for this permit is restricted to students only.

The Lot Q parking permit has been conceived as a value package consisting of both vehicle space within Lot Q and a fully functional Lethbridge Transit bus pass that is effective through to April 30, 2017. The bus pass and vehicle space are not separable, and this non-refundable, non-transferrable package is offered at $200. This pricing reflects a degree of compromise as there are several “blackout” dates where no parking will be permitted in the lot. These blackouts arise due to previous commitments for special event parking, and occur on the following dates:

Sept. 23 – no parking permitted after 3 p.m.

Sept. 30 – no parking permitted after 3 p.m.

Oct. 5 through Oct. 10 - no parking permitted

Oct. 14 - no parking permitted after 3 p.m.

Oct. 21 – no parking permitted

Oct. 28 – no parking permitted

Lethbridge Transit service from the Stadium to Aperture runs in each direction on a 30-minute cycle and individuals will have access to this service with their bus pass.

In order to promote fairness and maximize availability to all students wishing to obtain a Lot Q parking permit and bus pass, their sale will be conducted on a lottery basis according to the following schedule:

Sept. 20 – 8 a.m.          Lottery registration opens

                                                  Email parking@uleth.ca with full name, ID number and email address

                                                  Missing information will invalidate the registration submission

Sept. 22 – 12 p.m.      Lottery registration closes

Sept. 23 – 4:30 p.m.         All successful registrants will be notified by email by this time

Sept. 26 – 9 a.m.          Sales to successful registrants (1st intake) opens at the Cash Office

Sept. 28 – 12 p.m.      Deadline for purchase of permits by 1st intake of successful registrants

Sept. 28 – 4:30 p.m.         Unsold permits offered to next on list (2nd intake) by this time

Sept. 29 – 9 a.m.          Sales to additional notified successful registrants opens at the Cash Office

Sept. 30 – 3:30 p.m.         Deadline to purchase by 2nd intake of successful registrants
