Library Service Update: Circulation, Research, and Technology Assistance Desks Combined in Library

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

In the past, patrons had to go to three different desks for services. Last year we positioned research and technology at the same desk. In 2018, you will be able to receive circulation, research, and technology support at the same desk.

Starting Monday, January 8, 2018 patrons wanting to borrow resources (e.g., laptops, Main and Reserve Collections, etc.), requesting research support (e.g., citing resources, locating journal articles, etc.), and needing assistance with technology (e.g., Bridge Bucks, printing, scanning, etc.) can do so at the location of the current General Services Desk.

Hours of service for each are as follows:

Monday–Thursday

  • General Services Desk: 8 a.m.–11 p.m.
  • Research Desk: 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
  • Technology Support: 11 a.m.–11 p.m.

Friday

  • General Services Desk: 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
  • Research Desk: 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Technology Support: 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

Saturday

  • General Services Desk: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Research Desk: 1–5 p.m.
  • Technology Support: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Sunday

  • General Services Desk: 1–9 p.m.
  • Research Desk: 1–5 p.m.
  • Technology Support: 1–9 p.m.

With services centralized and shorter chains of communication for patrons and staff, we hope this will better serve the community.

This is a pilot project and once operational, we want to know what your experience is! You can let us know in person, via our Ask Us services, or by submitting a comment/suggestion. We do value and look forward to your feedback!
