The SOS Committee recently drew the next custodian of Kevin, our bronze Pronghorn – and Jason Shaughnessy, a Project Manager in Facilities was the winner! We held a brief Q&A session with Jason just before Christmas…
How long have you been working at the U of L? I started in August 2016.
Where were you prior to the U of L? I’ve been working in Construction Management for the past 14 years.
What drives you to support the SOS campaign? I remember how difficult it was to pay for school and to survive while attending full-time. I believe it is important that everyone that is willing and eager to better themselves has the opportunity to do so.
Describe what you do (in a nutshell) – I am a Project Manager in the Facilities department. I oversee construction and renovation projects throughout the campus.
What do you like to do in your spare time? – I spend most of my time these days looking after my two children who are 4 and 6 years old. Outside of that I like to spend time outdoors including skiing and fishing. I also am involved in volunteering with the Red Cross, Lethbridge Public Library, and Rocky Mountain Civil Liberties Association.
Thank you to Jason, and all SOS campaign donors, for their involvement. You, too, can become an SOS donor – no amount is too small! Go to uleth.ca/bridge/sos to donate by payroll deduction – and remember, 100% of your donation goes wherever YOU direct it!
