Game Jam: Make a game in 48 hours and win prizes!

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

The University of Lethbridge Library’s Project Sandbox initiative is hosting our first Game Jam!

Starting Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 10 a.m. until Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 4:00 p.m., you and your (optional) team have 48 hours to create a game that adheres to a particular theme (which will be revealed at the start of the competition). All Game Jam entries must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on February 20, 2020 to qualify for prizes.

You may create a game with any medium of your choosing. Games can be created with Unity, Raspberry Pis and the Sense HAT, Twine, Metaverse and any other digital platform available to you. Alternatively, low tech options are also an acceptable form of game creation: such as making your own board game, or using the Makey Makeys and cardboard.

All participants of the Game Jam will have to register individually, but you will be able to submit the members of your pre-made team on the day of the event. If you do not have a pre-made team, you can opt into being placed onto a team or can choose to work on your own.

At the end of the 48 hours, you will have the chance to show off all your hard work in a public showcase.

Good luck and happy Game Jamming!
