The University of Lethbridge has been working on finding solutions to help mitigate the strain on the finite parking options available to faculty, staff and students.

In response to the closure of Lots K and L due to construction of the Destination Project, a new gravel lot was opened at the University’s Community Stadium. This area, Lot Q, features a similar number of stalls to those taken out of commission and has been operating as free parking for students since the beginning of term.

The University has extended free parking in Lot Q through Sept. 30.

Meanwhile, U of L officials continue to work on a variety of other options to further ease pressure on the limited stalls available.

“No one measure is going to create a perfect solution because that is simply not feasible, but we are looking at a variety of options that we hope will lessen the strain on the current facilities,” says TJ Hanson, executive director, Facilities.
