DRAMA
- Two alumni were nominated for Betty Mitchell awards this year! Narda McCarroll (BFA – Dramatic Arts ’89) was nominated for Outstanding Lighting Design and Outstanding Set Design. Rebecca Toon (BFA – Dramatic Arts ’06) was nominated for Outstanding Costume Design.
- Accidental Humour Company, which kicked of its Alberta tour at the U of L in September, is packed with U of L alumni. The five core members are all U of L alums: Brent Felzien (BFA - Dramatic Arts ’06), William Banfield (BFA - Dramatic Arts ’06), Clifford Kelly (BFA - Dramatic Arts ‘07), Kimberlee Stadelmann (BFA - Dramatic Arts ’06), and Neil LeGrandeur (BFA - Dramatic Arts ’06). The Jim McCrackin trilogy was also written by another alums – Amos Altman (BA English ’04, BFA Dramatic Arts ’05).

- Camille Pavlenko (BFA- Dramatic Arts ’12) received the inaugural 2015 Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge Young Artist Award.
- Lisa Doolittle (Drama) co-authored an article, with Anne Flynn, entitled Colonial Theatrics in Canada: Managing Blackfoot Dance During Western Expansionism in the giant reference collection called The Oxford Handbook of Dance and Theater, edited by Nadine George-Graves. https://global.oup.com/academic/product/the-oxford-handbook-of-dance-and-theater-9780199917495?cc=ca&lang=en&#
- Richie Wilcox (Drama) directed Greg MacArthur’s (MFA – Dramatic Arts candidate) play Girls! Girls! Girls! in Halifax with Angels & Heroes Theatre in July, where it received critical acclaim. - Richie Wilcox (Drama) also helped produce and assisted in directing of Aaron Collier’s Nation, which was presented in Halifax at the brand new award-winning library. Also involved with the production was Erica Hunt (BFA – Dramatic Arts ’00) the narrator and Aaron Collier (Arts Technician) as the performer. Rebecca Miller (Drama) was busy over the summer in Ottawa as lighting designer for Up To Low with Easy Street Productions (part of Magnetic North Theatre Festival) and Assistant Stage Manager for the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards. This is the 8th year Miller has been the Lighting Designer for the CAPPIES (high school drama awards at the National Arts Centre in Southam Hall).
- Andrew Legg (MFA – Dramatic Arts ’13) played the Cowardly Lion in Rosebud Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz until Sept. 5. Audience comments online: “The lion was priceless.” “The Lion was so cute and funny!” http://www.rosebudtheatre.com/images/PDF/Comments-Oz.pdf
- Steve Benson (Drama Props Master) was the Head of Set/Props Build Team at the Canadian Badlands Passion Play in Drumheller, AB over the summer.

Alumni Owen Sheedy (BMus ’15) and Kale Skory (BMus ’15) were selected by audition to participate in the Ceremonial Guard parades and performances over the past summer.

Alumnus Dr. Andrew Staniland (BMus ’00) has been named the University of Lethbridge 2015 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year. Celebrations take place at fall convocation on Oct. 16 and 17.

Adam Mason (Music) performed in Japan in August as Featured Artist with the Falsa Percussion Group in Hirosaki. Adam spent an intensive week rehearsing the ensemble's concert repertoire, teaching Brazilian Samba drumming, and presenting clinics for the region's percussion students.
- U of L Conservatory of Music received the 2015 Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge Award for outstanding contributions to the Lethbridge community through the arts.
