Network of Excellence in Seniors’ Health and Wellness

Alberta’s population statistics highlight the critical need for innovative approaches to supporting an aging population: in 2013 Alberta’s population of seniors was just over 425,000; within nine years, that number is forecast to be 642,100 - a 33% increase.

The Network of Excellence in Seniors’ Health and Wellness champions a future where seniors can achieve optimal wellness and are supported to be independent, active and valued members of their communities. In partnership between Covenant Health and Alberta Health Services, the Network will tackle Alberta’s need for innovation in seniors’ health through:

  • collaboration
  • practical research
  • evaluation
  • knowledge dissemination .

Learn more about the Network from our Seniors' Forum 2014.

Innovation Fund

In keeping with the Network’s purpose and mandate, the Network has established a fund with a focus on projects and initiatives that enable high-impact change in the seniors' health and wellness system. The 2015 Innovation Fund is now open.
