Condolence Notice - Jason Goodstriker

The University of Lethbridge expresses its sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of alumnus Jason Goodstriker (BA ’95), a former Blood Tribe councillor and member of the Alberta government’s Fair Deal Panel, who passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the age of 47 years.

Goodstriker [Ootsimiohkitopi (Sorrel Horse Rider), Tasunka Duta Akanyanka (Red Sorrel Horse Rider)] was known throughout the province as a strong representative for First Nations communities who was focused on creating forward-thinking, collaborative relationships. A former Alberta Regional Chief for the Assembly of First Nations, Goodstriker leaves his wife Tiffany and their children behind.

An all-night wake will be held at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve, AB, on Friday, January 24, 2020, beginning at 7 p.m.

An Honouring Service will be held in the University’s 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10 a.m.

The University will lower the Alberta, Blackfoot Confederacy and University of Lethbridge flags on the day of his service.
