The CA Education Foundation of Alberta wants to give you money!

The Chartered Accountants Education Foundation of Alberta (CAEF) is offering scholarships to Alberta high school, post-secondary and CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) students.

Do not wait to apply! The application deadline is midnight (MST) on March 10, 2015.

Scholarships for Alberta post-secondary students

Aboriginal Student Business Award     
Value: $2,500
One (1) award available to an Aboriginal student enrolled in business or commerce at a degree-granting post-secondary institution in Alberta, with a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application.

Application deadline: March 10, 2015

Applicants must: 

  • be Canadian citizens and residents of Alberta;
  • be a person who not only declares himself or herself to be an Aboriginal person, but is also either a Status Indian, an Inuit, a Metis person, or a Non-Status Indian and a resident of Alberta;
  • submit a letter or video (2 to 3 minutes maximum) outlining why he or she is planning to, or currently pursuing, a career in business or as a professional accountant;
  • submit most recent transcripts to demonstrate academic achievement; and
  • submit one (1) letter of support from a current instructor.


Generations of Excellence Award    
Value: $2,500 each 
Two (2) awards available to second, third and fourth-year students enrolled in business or commerce at a degree-granting post-secondary institution in Alberta. Successful applicants will demonstrate an interest in pursuing an accounting designation and will have at least one (1) family member who is (or was) a member, in good standing, of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta (ICAA).

Application deadline: March 10, 2015

Applicants must: 

  • be Canadian citizens and residents of Alberta;
  • submit most recent transcripts to demonstrate academic achievement;
  • provide proof of full-time enrollment at Alberta post-secondary institution;
  • submit a letter on why he/she intends to pursue an accounting designation; and
  • submit one (1) letter of support from ICAA family member outlining what it means to him or her that the applicant is interested in pursuing the same career path (if ICAA family member is deceased, a letter from another family member or another CA would be admissible).

 

Young Emerging Professionals Award    
Value: $2,500 each
Two (2) awards available to post-secondary students enrolled in business or commerce at a degree-granting post-secondary institution in Alberta. In addition to satisfactory academic standing, applicants must also demonstrate the following qualities in their applications: professionalism, integrity, ethics and leadership.

Application deadline: March 10, 2015

Applicants must: 

  • be Canadian citizens and residents of Alberta;
  • submit a letter or video (2 to 3 minutes maximum) outlining the qualities he or she believes are the most important in order to become a successful business leader today and why he or she believes these qualities contribute to success;
  • submit most recent transcripts to demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement; and
  • submit one (1) letter of support from an instructor and one (1) additional letter from someone other than an instructor or family member.

 


New Canadian Achievement Award
Value: $2,500 
One (1) award available to an individual who has become a new Canadian or permanent resident within the last five years (i.e., on or after January 1, 2009). This individual must enrolled in business or commerce at a degree-granting post-secondary institution in Alberta or the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). This individual must also demonstrate satisfactory achievement in their academic or professional training program.

Application deadline: March 10, 2015

Applicants must:

  • be Canadian citizens and residents of Alberta;
  • provide proof of new Canadian or permanent resident status, and date that status was obtained;
  • submit a letter or video (2 to 3 minutes) outlining why he or she is planning to pursue a career in business and or accounting; and
  • submit one (1) letter of support from a current instructor or training principal/manager/supervisor.

Scholarships for Alberta CPA Professional Education Program Candidates

New Canadian Achievement Award
Value: $2,500 
One (1) award available to an individual who has become a new Canadian or permanent resident within the last five years (i.e., on or after January 1, 2009). This individual must enrolled in business or commerce at a degree-granting post-secondary institution in Alberta or the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). This individual must also demonstrate satisfactory achievement in their academic or professional training program.

Application deadline: March 10, 2015

Applicants must:

  • be Canadian citizens and residents of Alberta;
  • provide proof of new Canadian or permanent resident status, and date that status was obtained;
  • submit a letter or video (2 to 3 minutes) outlining why he or she is planning to pursue a career in business and or accounting; and
  • submit one (1) letter of support from a current instructor or training principal/manager/supervisor.
