Abortion Awareness Project currently on campus

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Members of the abortion awareness project have advised Security Services that they will be setting up a “choice chain” on the University of Lethbridge campus today.

Individuals from this group will be displaying materials at the bus loop area outside the Students' Union Building. In past instances, the materials displayed and the ensuing debate on campus have been emotional for those not wishing to view the materials or participate in the discussion.

Individuals will be able to choose to walk by the display or not. Signage at either end of the display area will be erected to inform students, faculty, staff and community members of the display’s location and the nature of its contents. U of L Security Officers will also be present to advise of alternate routes if individuals want to avoid the area.

If there are members of our community who are feeling distress over this situation, please seek assistance through Counselling Services (http://www.uleth.ca/counselling/) at 403-317-2845 or through the University of Lethbridge Employee and Family Assistance Program at 1-800-663-1142.
