After further assessment regarding the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, the Canadian Association of Business Students (CABS) Board of Directors and the 5 Days National Team have jointly decided to recommend that all member schools immediately suspend their 2020 – 5 Days for the Homeless physical campaign. This includes cancelling all fundraising events, all sleeper activities, and receiving any form of physical donations. This decision has been made with a heavy heart. However, with the realization that we are doing this for the sake of our public health system and to do our part in effectively limiting the spread of the novel virus. We encourage participating schools to move their campaigns to an online format. This includes social media, webinars, video campaigns, and so many other formats that ensure we continue raising awareness. Shelters and the homeless population that we are advocating for will need our backing more than ever during these times. As the next generation of business leaders, we need to show our support for this incredible cause through other mediums.
