Alberta Barley is a farmer-directed, not-for-profit organization representing Alberta’s 11,000 barley producers. Through the collection of a refundable levy, Alberta Barley is able to invest in research activities that will provide value to our farmer members and ensure the long-term sustainability of their livelihoods and of the sector.

In support of the next generation of barley scientists, Alberta Barley is excited to offer scholarships to students actively engaged in barley research. Full and part-time graduate and undergraduate students are invited to submit a one-page summary of their research project(s), along with an accompanying letter of confirmation from their academic supervisor and CV.

Project summaries should include a statement of how the research could be beneficial to barley producers and the industry under one of the key themes of feed, food, malt, agronomy, or as novel bio-products or concepts.

Applications or questions may be directed to the Research Manager David Simbo at dsimbo@albertabarley.com.
